Mix resin with care
Measure resin and hardener in the specified ratio and use a clean, dry wooden stick. Stir slowly and thoroughly, including along the bottom and sides of the cup, to avoid introducing unnecessary air. Follow your resin manufacturer's mixing ratio, stirring time, working time and safety instructions.
Prepare your acrylic pouring colours
Combine acrylic paint with a suitable pouring medium or prepare your mixture with Floetrol. Use a separate cup and stick for each colour. Lift the stick occasionally and compare how the colours flow back into the cup. This helps you adjust the consistency to your technique, from flip cup to Dutch pour. Follow the instructions for the products you use.
Mix in three steps
- Prepare. Set out your cups, measure the components according to the product instructions and use a clean, dry wooden stick for each mixture.
- Stir steadily. Mix with even movements, reaching the bottom and sides of the cup. For resin, follow the specified stirring time and working time.
- Check and create. For pouring, check how the paint runs off the stick. Use resin according to its instructions and pour your prepared colours using your chosen technique.

Why use a separate stick for each colour?
