At SaSA, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige bring buried histories beneath our cities back to the surface. Their groups Palimpsests, Time Capsules and Trilogies draw on archaeological fragments from sites in France, Greece and Lebanon. Palimpsests combines drone footage with microscopic images in a film about drilling and excavation. Time Capsules arranges stone and earth samples as layers, while the Trilogies reconsider chronology through photography, drawing and text. For the opening of SaSA, MAMCO was invited to propose an artistic intervention.
