From resin projects to colourful pouring sessions, this pack of 12 gives you cups for separate mixtures and different colours. Each cup holds 0.55 litres and has printed scales for measuring by volume. Leave enough space for stirring when filling it.
- Keep track of quantities: The millilitre scale runs from 50 to 550 ml in 20 ml increments.
- Ratios printed on the cup: Scales for 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 are included. Use the matching scale only for ratios specified by volume.
- 12 cups for your ideas: Prepare pouring colours individually and keep different mixtures separate.
Contents: 12 pieces, without lids · Capacity: 0.55 litres per cup · Scales: 1:1 · 2:1 · 3:1 · 4:1 and 50–550 ml
Measure resin according to its instructions
First check whether your resin is measured by weight or by volume. The cup scales measure volume: a ratio by weight cannot simply be transferred to the ratio scale. Use suitable weighing scales for instructions given by weight. Follow your resin manufacturer's specified ratio of resin to hardener.
Use a clean, dry cup and stir slowly and thoroughly, including the bottom and sides. Follow the mixing time, working time and permitted batch size for your resin system. The cup's 0.55 litre capacity does not determine how much resin you may mix at once.
Prepare each colour separately
Use a separate cup and stick for each pouring colour. Blend acrylic paint with a suitable pouring medium or prepare your mixture with Floetrol, following the relevant product instructions. The millilitre scale helps you keep a record of your quantities. Then compare how the colours run off the stick and adjust their consistency to your technique. Leave enough space in each cup to stir comfortably.
Mix in three steps
- Prepare. Place a clean, dry cup on a level surface. Have a mixing stick ready and check the dosing instructions and batch size for the products you are using.
- Measure and stir. Use the cup scale for instructions given by volume, and suitable weighing scales for instructions given by weight. Leave room for stirring and include the bottom and sides.
- Create and tidy up. Use the mixture within the specified working time. Afterwards, check whether your medium allows the cup to be cleaned and reused. Do not pour resin residues down the drain.
Questions about the mixing cups
What is included in the pack?
You receive 12 measuring and mixing cups, each with a capacity of 0.55 litres. Lids are not included.
Which scales are printed on the cups?
The cups have ratio scales for 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1, plus a millilitre scale from 50 to 550 ml in 20 ml increments.
Can I measure any resin using the ratio scale?
Only if your resin manufacturer specifies the matching ratio by volume. A ratio by weight requires suitable weighing scales. Also follow the permitted batch size; the cup's capacity alone does not determine it.
How do I use the cups for acrylic pouring?
Prepare each colour in its own cup with a separate mixing stick. Mix paint and medium according to the product instructions and leave enough space for stirring. Use the millilitre scale to keep a record of your quantities.
Can the mixing cups be reused?
The cups were originally designed for single use. Depending on the medium, residues may be removable so the cups can be reused; this is not possible with every mixture. Reuse them only when clean, dry and undamaged, and follow the medium's cleaning instructions. Do not pour resin residues down the drain.
