Choose your own canvas sizes and surface preparation. This raw fabric is made from 100% cotton, with an 8 oz grade and an approximate weight of 225 g/m². It has a fine to medium texture. You receive one folded bale, approximately 1.60 m wide × 18 m long, to cut and prepare for your work.

From loose fabric to your chosen size

Measure your intended size before cutting. If you want to stretch the canvas over a frame, allow extra fabric for the frame depth, wrapping and fastening as well as the painting surface.

The cotton canvas has not been primed. Choose a preparation suited to your painting technique and follow the instructions for your primer and paints. Test your planned surface preparation on an offcut before starting the painting itself.

What is the difference between 8 oz and 12 oz?

This 8 oz canvas weighs approximately 225 g/m². The raw 12 oz cotton canvas also available weighs approximately 340 g/m². Both are unprimed, have a fine to medium texture and are supplied as folded bales measuring approximately 1.60 × 18 m.

Is the canvas already stretched?

No. You receive loose, unprimed fabric without a stretcher frame. You cut, stretch and prepare it yourself.

Is the fabric supplied on a roll?

No. It is supplied as a folded bale.
